Change tempos within a measure

Often when there's a pickup to a section in a new tempo, I'd like the pickup to also be in the new tempo (an example is here, the eighth note before measure 3). My workaround for this is generally to make a new measure specifically for the pickup in the new tempo and hide the barline, but that's a hassle. It would be awesome if you could just change the tempo earlier!
