Noteflight allows you to view parts directly from the score, plus use the audio mixer to control what parts playback. You can also use the "Play only parts in view" option to hear only your selected parts in the Parts Panel. Here is how it works:
1. Viewing Parts
From the Parts Panel of any score, you can select which parts you would like shown on the page.
Under "Show" you can select which part or combination of parts you would like to view. You will still hear the full score audio at this point.
Selecting the radio button next to the corresponding part will only show that one part on the page.
Tip: Choosing "Print Full Score" will only print the parts that are selected to show in the Parts panel.
2. Play Only Parts in View
Selecting the "Play only parts in view" option will make changes in your score's Mixer so that you only hear the parts shown on the page during playback. This feature is only available to Noteflight Premium and Learn users.
If you make any additional changes to the mixer, this setting will be disabled.
3. The Mixer
The score Mixer is where you can choose which parts in your score you would like to hear playback and adjust levels. The Mixer can be accessed from the "sound" palette of any Noteflight Premium or Noteflight Learn account.
Like the Parts Panel, the Mixer features checkboxes and radio buttons you can select to choose which parts you would like to hear during playback, as well as a volume slider to adjust levels.
You can also select which track audio you would like to hear during playback from the Tracks tab of the Mixer. If you are using Live Audio Recording, you will see your recording show up as a Track option.
The Master tab of the Mixer is where you can adjust the gain and reverb settings for playback.
Tip: Exporting your score to an MP3 and WAV file will only include the parts selected in the Mixer for playback.
