I would like to write eighth notes without the automatic beams. Is there a way to do this?

  In Noteflight, the 'Start Beam' button beams the selected note/rest to the note/rest on its right. The 'Continue Beam' button beams it to the left. Use the 'Start Beam' and 'Continue Beam' buttons until the eighth/16th/32nd/64th... notes are isolated according to their beams.
