Deleting triplets

Long time user, but maybe I just don't know what I'm doing after all these years. When I delete a triplet it also deletes whatever note precedes the triplet. I thought that surely this would be fixed ages ago, but here we are. Is there a way to delete a triplet without altering that which precedes it? If not, please consider giving the option.
