Plugins and/or Bass & Keyboard Upgrades
The premium version of Noteflight is still not giving me everything I need. I have a few feature requests that, if implemented, will make Noteflight even more enjoyable for me (and others, I assume).
Plugins. These will allow users to select instruments from any sound library of choice, just like in a DAW. The reason I don't use a DAW is that I prefer working with sheet music and I enjoy having all of my work online (for device independence). Noteflight satisfies both of those preferences, but a plugin feature would make it a superb notation editor.
I know Noteflight uses a third-party sound library that has limited options, but please do consider implementing plugins.
If it will be extremely difficult to integrate plugins with Noteflight, then an improvement in the electric bass guitar and keyboard sounds alone will suffice. The current electric bass on Noteflight is not rich enough; it sounds too hollow. This video has the exact bass and keyboard sounds that I want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Tgk1wvATpw
It would also be nice to do a bass slide, as done at the 3:14 mark in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzhZIyF6_P8
That bass slide is neither a glissando nor a portamento. It consists of a quick slide up the neck of the bass, followed by a slower slide down the neck. If this is implemented in Noteflight, I believe the following options will be most useful to users:
=} The slower slide alone, ending on the note chosen by the user. Half-note and quarter-note duration options.
=} The quicker slide followed by the slower slide. Half-note and quarter-note duration options.
Having a plugin feature on Noteflight will handle most of the requests above, if not all (perhaps, the bass slide will need to be a separate feature). I look forward to some feedback about the feasibility of implementing the aforementioned features.
