Counting symbols

I'm developing worksheets where the students will type in the counting of rhythms. The fastest way to do this is to use the Lyric tool. The glitch is that the Lyric tool uses the + symbol for elisions, so it won't let you mark the count "and" (as in 1 e + a), so I have to substitute &. I've written in my textbook specifically to avoid this symbol as uncommon and impractical when using hand-written notation. Please change the elision symbol, and let us have + back! Thanks

  I agree!  I also would like for the beginning counting for a note to line up vertically with the note head.  When using the text tool, the characters are centered below the note head so that if you are counting a quarter note "1e&a", for example,  the "1" is offset to the left.
