Auto save for student projects
As a teacher, Noteflight is one of the best options for cloud based music composition software. It would be hands down the absolute #1 option, but it lacks one of the most important features for todays teaching community. The lack of auto save, or auto sharing of student work creates a multitude of problems that almost negates every positive that noteflight does. If a student fails to click the save button then the teacher cannot see their work, at all. This has resulted in hours of extra work for me, as students insist they completed the work, I go back into the assignment on the teacher side to find nothing changed, only for them to log back in at a later point and get the "Do you want to save unsaved work?" pop-up. They also need to sign-in from the same computer they used previously to recover that work, which adds to the chaos of finding missing work because of the lack of the auto save. I'll watch students work on a project, frantically finish it as the end of period bell rings, rush out the door, then I when I sit down to grade it I can't see any of their work because they didn't click the save button. Now I have to go back to that same project next class to fix the problem, and no matter how many times I warn them, or remind them, they do not remember to click the the save button. It seems so simple, but when working with students who have only known auto-saved documents, they do not think of manually saving and since they need to log back in in order to fix the problem it creates tons of wasted time grading, and it isn't wasting their time it is wasting my time, which is very limited and is causing me to consider other notation software programs. This single feature needs to be added to catch up with the rest of the cloud based teaching community that has been doing it for quite a few years now. This type of feature is teacher and student friendly, and would make Noteflight Learn the absolute best Google integrated music composition software available today.
