Split dual voice staves

Please make it possible to split a stave that has upper voice and lower voice together into two staves with the upper on one and the lower on the other. The 'remove voice' function seems to only work bar by bar? Ie. even if you highlight the whole stave and click 'remove voice' it only removes the voice from the first bar.
