Immediately Enable editing after hitting pause/stop with the space bar

I feel the workflow could be a lot more streamlined if editing "re-enabled" as soon as you stop playback. 

I'm sure most will agree, but when you play it back you usually are reviewing your composition, and then after hitting stop/pause, you need to make edits, but you always have to click either edit or stop to do so. 

It would be amazing if the edit just kicked back in!

  Yes! This is absolutely a good idea. I actually wonder whether it is needed at all to have this 'exclusive' play mode. Why not simply a key-combination for play/pause and that's it. It is very unhandy to have to be in a seperate play mode or not in play mode.

  Yes, please. I get so frustrated trying to turn off the play mode when editing. It's cumbersome.

  I agree as well, but I noticed that stop and edit do the exact same thing. I know I'm not in the right place to say this, but I thought that was weird, and maybe we could have something of better use in stop or edit's place.

  100%. It's maddeningly frustrating that it often takes me several clicks or taps of the ESC key to get back to the editing. This is completely counterintuitive to smooth workflow. The playback controls need to disappear the second we hit stop. The spacebar should be STOP, not PAUSE.
