Allow only first, second, etc. ending notes

I want to have a note play for only the first time, but not any repeats seeing as it's a continued note from the measure before the repeat. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this and my only solution is to write it in and play it correctly when I play it myself. However, it would be very helpful to be able to accurately hear what I'm going to play.

  Isn't this what ties and slurs are for?  I'm confused.

  If I understand you correctly, you are asking for first and second endings. Noteflight already supports this.
