SoundCheck™, powered by MatchMySound™, provides instant ratings and feedback for pitch, rhythm, and intonation, and is available for use with any Noteflight Score. Noteflight Learn accounts can add SoundCheck as an add-on for only $3 per user, per year. You can easily create a SoundCheck score from any score in Noteflight and SoundCheck will then assess your recorded performance and give you feedback. Here is how it works:
Assessment and Feedback
SoundCheck provides scores for pitch and rhythm, as well as total length played. The overall score is a weighted average of the pitch and rhythm scores from only the section that was recorded. You can set any score goal you would like, and it defaults to 80%:
The performance feedback is displayed as a full graph or a simple graph, with individual messages to indicate rhythm, pitch, and intonation errors. Simply hover over any section of the line to see the error message. The Full Graph mode uses red-yellow-green to indicate pitch errors, and the height of the line indicates rhythm errors. When the line goes up it means the performance was ahead, and the line going down means the performance was behind:
In Simple Graph mode, the feedback line is always straight and the red-yellow-green colors will indicate either a pitch or rhythm error, with the error message displaying when you hover over the color:
SoundCheck will default to Full Graph mode but you can always switch to Simple Graph for any assessment.
