CSV Rostering for Adding and Removing Students (Standalone)

You can easily add and remove students from a Noteflight Learn Standalone site using a CSV file. The CSV rostering process will display all students in the site and allow you to add and remove as needed to manage your site for a large number of student users. Here is how it works:

1. Create a .csv file that includes only a single column of usernames. *No emails nor any other student information will be accepted.

2. Under Manage Site - Members, select "Manage Students with CSV". 

3.  After uploading your CSV file, Noteflight will sort the usernames in up to three categories:

New usernames in CSV This represents all new usernames found in your CSV that do not already have an active account inside your Noteflight Learn site. When rostering your site for the first time, this will be the only option you see.

Matching usernames in site and CSV This represents all usernames found in your CSV that already have an existing Noteflight Learn user on your site. This helps you identify any duplicate usernames, as well as allows you to use a CSV to remove students. For example, you could upload a list of all usernames who have graduated or are no longer at the school and easily remove them all.

Usernames in site and not in CSV This represents all existing usernames on your site that were not included in your CSV. This helps you identify any missing usernames, as well as allows you to easily remove students who are not current. For example, you could upload a list of all usernames who are currently active at the school, then remove the remaining users on your site.

The combination of these three categories provides a flexible rostering system to manage all students at once. You can upload a single CSV of all usernames you would like to have in your Noteflight Learn site and let Noteflight sort the new, duplicate, and remaining users for you to easily add and remove students as needed. 

Once you have selected the option(s) you would like to complete, select "Next". 

4. You will see a summary to confirm changes and be promoted to set a password for all new users. You may leave the password field blank to allow users to log in the first time with no password and immediately be promoted to create their own.

5. If any of your usernames have already existed previously in your site, Noteflight will provide you the option to replace or restore these previous users.
