Using the built-in piano keyboard is the best way to enter notes on the iPad, and we have many students who don't know the piano well, that can still use this method. What they can do is enter a note they think is close, then keep the 'pitch' palette open and click the up/down buttons in that palette to move the note to the one they want.
To add multiple notes, touch all the notes you want at once; OR, touch the first one and hold your finger down, then touch the other notes you need, and they will all be added onto the same stem as a chord.
Follow these steps to select multiple notes or measures on an iPad or iPhone:
- Tap the first note (the cursor will start to blink)
- Put one finger on the last note of the range of notes you want to select (don't release it!)
- Right away, tap back on the first note you selected.
